History

The Mersey Clubs Competitions comprise of the Mersey Shield, Mersey Bowl, Mersey Championship, Mersey Seniors Competitions, The Mersey League, Junior Mersey League and the Junior Mersey Shield & Championship.


The formation of the competitons was first agreed at the Meeting of the Mersey Clubs at Chorlton cum Hardy Golf Club on 9th February 1995.


The Mersey Competitions exist to promote friendly competition between the five Mersey Clubs to the ultimate benefit of all members. A committee comprising the Competitions Chairman and the Mersey League Organiser of each of the five participating clubs shall administer the competitions. There should be one representative of each club present to represent a quorum. The committee meet once a year and at such other times as called by any one participating club to decide any disputes which may arise.


The Mersey Clubs are Chorlton, Didsbury, Northenden, Sale and Withington
